This building here originally started out as Rink's, a regional chain of discount department stores based in Ohio. Rink's was gone by the mid-1980s, with the big-box home improvement retailer Hechinger moving into the building sometime in the early 1990s.
Hechinger would face bankruptcy, go out of business, and liquidate all of their assets in 1999. After Hechinger closed, this building would later be taken up by Old Time Pottery, which itself would later close, with Gabe's, a regional chain of off-price stores (similar to that of a TJ Maxx of Burlington) eventually taking the helm, with them still currently operating out of the building. |
